Sydney has been sweltering this week. That means sun, sand and invariably an ice cream or cold drink to help take the edge off. But the next time you’re thinking about grabbing a packet or punnet of processed ice cream, just pick up some fresh fruit instead. I’ve got a crush on this new Healthy Berry Slushie recipe and I guarantee you’ll have a crush too.
A fruit crush is a healthier alternative to a preservative laced ice cream, popsicle or electric pink berry Slurpee you might find at the supermarket or corner store. It’s a great way to use the leftover fruit that’s sitting in the bottom of the fruit bowl and you can make some of the mix as a crush and pour the rest into popsicle moulds for later.
If you’re being a bit naughty, add some good quality vodka or white rum to either and you have a fruity cocktail (adults only obviously).
